Solar Dehydrator That Preserves Your Harvest for Free
Stop watching your hard-earned produce rot on the counter. This screen cabinet uses sun and breeze to dry herbs, fruits, and vegetables — no electricity, no kitchen heat, no freezer space required.

HOW IT WORKS:
- Screens allow air circulation while blocking insects
- Sun provides gentle heat for slow, even drying
- Vertical design = small footprint, large capacity
- Sliding trays allow loading multiple harvests at once

BASIC CONSTRUCTION:
- Frame: 2x2 lumber, approximately 24 inches wide x 60 inches tall x 24 inches deep
- Sides: Fine mesh screen on all surfaces (including top)
- Door: Hinged front panel for easy loading
- Rails: Thin strips inside, spaced 4-6 inches apart
- Trays: Wood frames with food-grade screen stapled to bottom

IDEAL FOR DRYING:
- Herbs: Basil, oregano, rosemary, lavender, mint, thyme
- Vegetables: Tomatoes, peppers, onions, garlic
- Fruits: Apple slices, pear, berries, banana

LOCATION AND TIMING:
- Sunny and breezy spot
- 1-3 days depending on moisture content
- Rotate trays for even drying
